Stunning Hair Pins

Sakae, a Japanese artist from Narita City, creates exquisite hair pins known as kanzashi. These traditional hair pieces have been around for quite some time in Japan, but these pieces – each hand-crafted from resin and delicate brass wire – are some of the most beautiful you’ll ever see. Depending on the complexity of the piece, they can take anywhere from 3-30 days to complete.

If, after seeing these hairpins in all their glory, you feel like buying one, we have some bad news for you. Sakae rarely puts them up for sale, and when she does it’s only through Yahoo Auction in Japan. To add to this, you’ll need a spare thousand dollars to purchase one.
