10 Handy Tips for Cleaning Difficult Items

There are spots and objects in your home that are too daunting to clean, but with these 10 tips your cleaning will become more bearable:

1. The inside of your purse
cleaning

Pouring the contents out of your purse won't remove all the dirt. Use a lint roller to catch all those hard to clean corners.

2. Stop drawers from being messy
Searching through deep drawers for items you need can be irritating, especially when in a rush. For a quick and effective solution stack your t-shirts vertically, enabling you to grasp what you need with ease.

3. Stubborn pet hair on the carpet
cleaning

Removing stubborn hair from a carpet can be a daunting task. But rather than using a broom to remove fur, use a squeegee with a rubber blade. This will lift the fur quickly and efficiently.

4. Dirty blinds
Using a duster won't always get all the dust out, so use an old sock dipped into a mix of water and vinegar (equal amounts) instead. Put your hand in the sock and use it to clean both sides of the blind.

5. A bucket that won't fit in the sink

Should you need to fill up a bucket that won't fit in the sink, grab a dustpan with a hollow handle and place the scoop part facing the water stream. The dustpan will act like a funnel.

6. Dusty clothes
The clothes that we don't tend to wear regularly just sit in the closet collecting dust. To stop them from getting dirty, cut a small hole in a cloth and place it over the coat hanger, keeping your clothes clean.
7. Sticky candles
cleaning

Once candles have been used they tend to become sticky. Wiping them doesn't do much and can damage the candle in the process. Place the candle in a stocking, rubbing the fabric against the candle. The stocking's fabric will clean the grime off without damaging the wax.

8.  Rings in the toilet bowl
Scrubbing the toilet to remove rings may not get the results we've hoped for. Try using Alka-Seltzer instead. Add two tablets into the water and let them sit there for about 20 minutes, then flush. If Alka-Seltzer is unavailable, use citric acid instead.

9. Dusty screens
cleaning

Screens accumulate dust due to their static electricity. Use a coffee filter to clean the screen, removing the dust efficiently and reducing the level of static electricity.

10. A dirty coffee grinder
Cleaning up your grinder can be difficult and may also effect the taste. One solution is to put Cheerios in the grinder for 30 seconds. The Cheerios will absorb any leftovers and unwanted smells.
