USS Plainview: The Ship That Flew

The USS Plainview was unlike any other ship. Built by Lockheed Shipbuilding in Seattle in 1964, this ship could lift out of the water as it accelerated, thanks to a series of underwater wing-like structures. This feature enabled much faster speeds and efficiency. However, the USS Plainview didn’t last long. This video explores its fascinating history.
